NIGHT VIEW OF PRINSEP GHAT – KOLKATA

Prinsep Ghat is a historical ghat built in 1841 on the banks of the Hooghly River in Kolkata, India. It is named after James Prinsep, an English scholar and orientalist, who deciphered the Brahmi script from the Ashokan Pillar at Sarnath.

The ghat is a popular spot for evening strolls, and is especially well–known for its beautiful night–time views of the illuminated Howrah Bridge, which is lit up by thousands of lights. During the evenings, the ghat also has a sound and light show, which consists of light projections on the walls and pillars of the buildings surrounding the ghat. The ghat also hosts several cultural events, such as Durga Puja, which is celebrated with much fanfare by the locals.

Prinsep Ghat is a popular tourist attraction in Kolkata, and is a great place to get a taste of the city’s culture and history. It is also a great place to take a leisurely stroll along the river and admire the views of the illuminated Howrah Bridge.
