The Nakhodka Mosque located at the intersection of Zakaria Street and Rabindra Sarani in Chitpur area of Central Calcutta is the largest Mosque not only in West Bengal , but in Eastern India . The mosque as it stands today was built between 1926 and 1935 on a site where two earlier mosques existed , built by the Kutchi Memon community of the city- a group of Sunni Muslims hailing from Kutch , Gujarat .
