View Of Elphinstone Circle From Churchgate Steet – 185 (Code: 185) – Mounted Photo Print

₹3,000.00 – ₹30,000.00

Much of Bombay’s buildings were designed by architects living and working in Bombay. However, the Bombay University complex comprising two separate buildings, the Library (built 1869-78) and the Convocation Hall (built 1869-74), were designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott from his office in London, in the Neo Gothic style of the 15th century. The Hall has a beautiful circular stained glass window, with a design of the  12 signs of the zodiac.  While Premchand Roychand , the well-known banker and ‘Cotton King’ funded the library and the 260 feet high Rajabai Clock Tower, the Convocation Hall was funded through a handsome donation from Parsi philanthropist Sir Cowasji Jehangir Readymoney.
